Whether they’re experienced sailors, able-bodied or disabled, they all come together on Monaco’s waters for the Navicap Challenge – Trophée Elena Sivoldaeva organized by the Yacht Club de Monaco. The Navicap Challenge – Trophée Elena Sivoldaeva provides specially adapted boats, enabling everyone to compete, whatever their physical challenges. Through this project, the YCM demonstrates that sailing is a universal sport, capable of bringing together people from all walks of life, while underlining the importance of accessibility and equal opportunities in the world of yachting. It is thanks to the generosity of donor member Elena Sivoldaeva that since 2022 YCM has been able to boost its fl eet with an AIRA 22, two Hansa 303s and an Echo 90. Th ree coaches in the Sports Section have also undertaken special training to safely supervise sailors with disabilities alongside young assistant instructors. A commitment that refl ects YCM’s aim to expand this “Handivoile” activity at the Club.
